FILM SCREENINGS
In partnership with the Informaction, Roffeke, Society for International Development and the Berlin Self Help Group
The Festival kicked off with film screenings on Saturday, 9 July in the famous open field popularly known as the ‘California Deza ground’. More films were shown on the following Tuesday at the St Teresa Parish. Thanks to the concerted efforts of the local youth groups and the community leaders, two hundred residents, including many children and young women, enjoyed the national and international short movies. The films tackled relevant and contemporary issues such as democracy, poverty, gender, migration, good governance and accountability. The audience engaged in animated discussions after the films and had their say.
