The Principle Investigator for Nursing Narratives of Sheffield Hallam University: Racism and the pandemic, a UKRI Arts and Humanities Research Council Urgent Call Covid19 funded research project. She is the author of Imperial Persuaders: Images of Africa and Asian in British Advertising (2003 MUP) and Black Star: Britain's Asian Youth Movements (Pluto 2013). She is the founder of a digital archive www.tandana.org relating to Asian Youth Movements.
