Ed Ferguson

(PhD in African History, UCLA), an activist historian who taught at UDSM (1973-1977) and returned to the US to teach for another thirty years. He was active in the anti-apartheid movement and sports boycott of South Africa, initiated the Zanzibar Library Project, and was Executive Secretary of the Assn. of Concerned Africa Scholars. He is retired and lives in Portland, Oregon.
